Deep Plane Facelift Designed to Restore Facial Definition Without an Overdone Look

Dr. David L. Cangello combines advanced facial surgery with an artist’s eye to reposition deeper tissues, restore youthful contours, and preserve your natural identity.

A Refined Approach to Deep Plane Facelift

Facial aging affects more than the skin. Over time, the deeper tissues supporting the cheeks and jawline descend, creating jowls, facial heaviness, and reduced definition.

A Deep Plane Facelift addresses these structural changes by releasing and repositioning deeper facial tissues as a coordinated unit. This restores support without relying on excessive tension at the skin level.

By allowing the deeper layers to carry the lift, the skin can be placed more gently. This helps avoid the flattened, tight, or visibly operated appearance many patients fear.

Every procedure is planned around the patient’s anatomy, tissue quality, facial proportions, and individual aging pattern. The objective is refined rejuvenation that preserves movement, expression, and facial character.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Deep Plane Facelift releases and repositions deeper facial tissues, including the SMAS and descended cheek structures. Compared with techniques that rely more heavily on skin tightening, it restores structural support with less tension placed on the skin.

The procedure may be appropriate for patients with descended cheeks, jowls, reduced jawline definition, or more advanced aging of the lower face. Candidacy depends on facial anatomy, skin quality, health, and individual goals.

Dr. Cangello’s approach focuses on restoring deeper support rather than excessively pulling the skin. The objective is to improve facial definition while preserving natural movement, expression, and identity.

It primarily addresses the midface and lower face. When aging also affects the neck, the procedure may be combined with a Neck Lift to improve the transition between the jawline and neck.

Swelling and bruising are expected during the initial healing period. Many patients feel comfortable returning to social activities within approximately two to three weeks, although refinement continues over the following months.

A Deep Plane Facelift provides long-lasting structural rejuvenation, but it does not stop the natural aging process. Longevity varies according to anatomy, skin quality, lifestyle, and individual aging patterns.

Yes. Depending on the patient’s needs, it may be combined with Eyelid Surgery, Brow Lift, Neck Lift, or Fat Transfer for a more comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
